Abstract

Between July and October 2002 Oxford Archaeology North (OA North), undertook a series of archaeological watching briefs within Preston, Lancashire, centred between Manchester Road to Mount Street, and lying to the south of Fishergate and Church Street (SD 538 294); the work was undertaken on behalf of Alfred McAlpine Utility Services> The Aim of the watching brief was to establish the existence and location of any surviving archaeological remains during the course of refurbishment works associated with the water supply to Preston town centre.
