Archaeological monitoring was undertaken on land to the north-west of Kettlebrig, Wretham, by staff of the Archaeological Field Unit of Cambridgeshire County Council in advance of development on the 30th of October 2003. A Roman road - Peddar's Way - is thought to run close to the site and the excavation hoped to locate its agger. No archaeological remains were uncovered during the groundworks and it is thought that post-medieval activity may have destroyed any evidence of the Roman road.
