River Kennet Aldermarston Oxbows, Berkshire

Abstract

In September 2003 OA carried out an archaeological watching brief on a section of the River Kennet at Aldermaston Oxbows. The work was commissioned by the Environmental agency in advance of river habitat enhancement works. The watching brief revealed no evidence of occupation or features during regrading of the banks and no finds earlier than C20th were recovered during desilting of the river bed.
